Nail surgery

Marta enjoys performing total nail avulsion surgery for fungal nails because many people are unaware that this is an available solution. They often try numerous other treatments without success, so offering them this option is rewarding, especially when it results in a healthy nail regrowth. Dealing with unsightly nails can be embarrassing, and seeing a healthy nail grow back brings her great satisfaction.

Accidents, like dropping a heavy object on a toe, often lead to fungal infections, and it's comforting for patients to know it wasn't their fault. Many people try over-the-counter treatments for years, but seeing a healthy nail grow back after surgery is fulfilling for Marta.

Additionally, Marta enjoys performing partial nail avulsions because it effectively resolves ingrown nails, providing a quick and long-lasting solution.

Biomechanics

Marta specialises in biomechanics. Marta previously worked for an orthotics' lab in Belgium where she learned more about the ins and outs of orthotic design. She brings this knowledge into her practice on a daily basis while performing musculoskeletal assessments. Every bio assessment I do is different, not everyone we see through the door has the same issue therefore it allows me to get to know the patients condition in detail while also expanding my expertise.

Low level laser

"I love using Low-level laser therapy as it is very versatile. It can be used to reduce pain during invasive therapies, such as steroid injections. It can be applied to various problems, including nerve pain and tissue pain, and is effective post-surgery or post-trauma. It is most commonly used for plantar fasciitis and ankle sprains. Often, with acute pain, there are few options available. While we can "rest, ice, compress, and elevate," this therapy opens up new treatment possibilities."

Marta is available at our Sydenham Clinic - Monday to Friday
